on our latest orchestra trip our teacher found out that all of her first violins except one would be leaving next year for different reasons and she was quite stunned because that's her entire section and the second violins aren't quite developed enough to be a strong first violin section. To be a good first violin section you need to be very talented and experienced and they aren't quite ready for that so I know Mrs. Yonts is very worried she doesn't quite know what she's going to do. I know I'm not going to play my violin in college but I don't want to totally give it up so I was thinking maybe there could be some way I could get the music that they would be playing in their concerts learn it while I'm in college and just come back and play with them during the concerts. I think it woul dbe fun for me and the group because it would be a familiar face to come back and play and I still wouldn't have to totally give up the violin. I'm worried though that I'll take this on and once I get to college and get invested in my classes etc. I'll forget or not have enough motivation and won't practice and not get the music in time and I think that would be a let down to the group if they knew about it but really I would have no obligations to them so I think I might talk to Mrs. Yonts about it and just say I woul dlike to do this but I don't want to fully committ to it because I'm not sure how my schedule will be and I'm not sure how studying, classes etc will play out and just see what she thinks about it.
